You may have tried to fix a clog yourself by pouring a little — or a whole bottle — of Liquid Plumr into your drains. And it may have helped a little at first. But commercially available drain cleaner is no match for a serious clog.
You may have also tried to use a drain snake, also known as an auger. Although we hear it is possible to clear a drain with a manual auger, we have not seen it done. Our plumbers in Salt Lake City rely on power augers to clear clogs in toilets, bathtub drains, sinks and more.
Another technique we use to resolve clogs in sinks is to take apart the trap under the sink and physically remove the clog. This is helpful because we can see what has caused the clog, and homeowners can take care with that substance going forward so the issue doesn’t recur.
